Whether you are auditing a live website, reviewing a client's staging environment, or checking a draft before it goes live, the extension delivers a full scored audit in under two seconds, right inside your browser.
Why We Built It
URL-based SEO tools have a fundamental limitation: they can only reach pages that are publicly accessible. That leaves out a significant portion of the pages that actually need attention before they go live. Logged-in dashboards, CMS drafts, preview deploys, and localhost environments are all invisible to a tool that works from a link alone.
The Seonio Chrome Extension removes that constraint. Because it runs directly in your browser, it can analyze any page you can see in Chrome, without requiring a public URL and without sending any data to an external server.
What It Checks
The extension audits six categories of on-page signals in a single scan and allows to download web pages as clean Markdown or HTML. Every issue includes the exact line of HTML responsible and a description of the fix required.
Indexability covers robots directives, canonical tags, HTTPS status, and hreflang attributes. These are the signals search engines evaluate first, and errors here can prevent a page from being indexed regardless of how well everything else is optimized.
Metadata and SERP appearance includes the title tag, meta description, language declaration, URL quality, and favicon, along with a live Google SERP preview so you can see exactly how the page will appear in search results.
Content structure evaluates heading hierarchy from H1 through H6, flags duplicate or missing H1s, identifies thin content, and surfaces the page's top terms.
Links and images reviews internal and external link ratios, anchor text quality, broken anchors, and missing image alt attributes.
Schema and social inspects Open Graph tags, Twitter Cards, and JSON-LD structured data, with side-by-side social card previews showing how the page will render when shared.
Technical signals checks the foundational elements that affect rendering and crawlability: doctype, charset, viewport configuration, and DOM size.
Built with Privacy in Mind
The extension is built on Manifest V3 and operates entirely within the browser. No page data is sent to external servers, there are no analytics or telemetry calls, and no account is required to use it. Every scan runs locally, which means sensitive content such as internal dashboards or pre-launch pages never leaves the user's machine.
The extension requests only the permissions it needs: access to the active tab during a scan, the ability to render a side panel, and local storage to remember the most recent scan. Nothing more.
